March (and April) Madness

My weekends are usually pretty low key. Don't get me wrong, I always have a good time and enjoy life, but usually Adam and I are doing good if we have plans for Friday by Thursday night. Well recently my calendar has become book of scratches and scribbles due to so much stuff going on in March and April.

I have known for awhile that my friend Panichi is coming for her spring break March 10-15 (she's in her last year of law school, yay for you Panichi, which means her last spring break :). I have flex time for work so while she's here I planned to take W-F off. We are taking a road trip to Tucson so she can see my sister's kids and their home there, then finishing the trip off in Phoenix where we will meet up with her brothers and dad. I thought that week seemed busy then the plans kept rolling in.

Next I found that my friend Darah, who is a teacher, and my other friend Evan (Darah's BF) are coming for her spring break. They will get here the weekend of April 3, go onto LA for the weekdays that Adam and I work, then come back Easter weekend.

Next, my cousin Court and her new baby Leighton are coming to Tucson April 11-20. I am dying to see baby Leighton in person, but am waiting to go until the second weekend they are visiting because Darah and Evan will still be enjoying all that San Diego has to offer :)

After all these plans, I realized Adam's birthday was among the madness so I emailed some of our friends to plan a get together. We got a date set that we were all free and then I got a call from my sister Kristie...I have been sad because I wasn't going to see her kids until this summer, but she decided to go to Tucson March 28-the weekend I had planned for Adam's birthday celebration. Scratch that weekend, I had to email everyone for a rescheduling because I can't miss out on seeing the kids! March 21 or Easter Day it will have to be, whichever date people are free on!

I then realized that I would be driving to and from Tucson (7ish hours each way) March 10, March 27, and April 17. I love Tucson and I love seeing everyone and I even like taking drives most of the time, but that is where I drew the line. Adam and Diggy are going to wait til the summer to meet Leighton while I take a flight there so I can stay a bit longer.

Oh yeah, my freshman dorm roomate DD is coming tomorrow and my cousin Emily is coming in May too. And we are taking a trip to the Florida Keys the last weekend of April...my mind is spinning!

I think a lot of people in my situation, who live across the country from most of their friends and loved ones could get lonely. I thank the wonderful city of San Diego (and the whole southwest) for being such an appealing place to visit that I haven't had one chance to be lonely at all. The visitors just keep rolling in and I hope they never stop!

The Roleys and Seaworld

This past weekend, the Roleys came down to take the kids to Seaworld. I had been to Seaworld a few times with Camp La Jolla and liked it, but it was WAY more fun with Lex, Ells, and Tate. We had a great time there, then went home for dinner and drinks, and to bed. The day flew but it was great! We loved the dolphin show, the pet show, the mirrors (we lauged at ourselves in them for a good half hour), pretty much everything. All of us but Katie and Ellie went on a water ride and got soaked and were wet for about 3 hours, but it was fun. Katie even joined the nerdy mom club and converted her camera case into a fanny pack so she didn't have to carry it. Lexie was embarressed, haha. So much fun. This weekend I have to work our free clinic and Adam will be in Colorado so it will be boring for me! I will be going to see the Roleys in Tucson on March 12; my friend Panichi is visiting and we are roadtripping to Arizona! Here are some pictures from the past weekend!

Tate still likes to be carried but forgets his legs are getting almost as long as mine, haha

Welcome to the family Leighton!

My cousin Courtney had her baby today. Leighton Grace was born at 12:50 PM 6 lbs 8 oz and 20 in long. The pictures made me cry, she is just so perfect. I am so sad I can't just drive to the hospital to go see her, but from what Kristie and my mom said, lots of people were visiting and Leighton is already very loved! I already feel so much love for her and I'm only seeing her through pictures!

Court is bringing Leighton to Katie's house in Tucson in April so that Katie and I can see her! I can't wait!

Pictures from February

I have added a few posts minus pictures, but just took the time last night to get the picts off of the camera. Here are some pictures of my boss Renee's 60th birthday party at an Afghan Restaurant downtown, Adam and I out with some friends on a random weekend night, Valentine's Day, and my birthday!

V-Day and B-Day Weekend

I had quite the weekend of celebrations, with Valentine's Day and my birthday being in the same weekend! Adam and I did quite the celebrating :)

For Valentine's Day we took a nice long walk to a restaurant in Hillcrest called Cafe on Park and had a nice brunch. The place was super cute and the food was really good. Unfortunately, the weather this day (and the whole weekend) wasn't that great, so we went home and watched DVD's of our new favorite show, Gossip Girl (yes, Adam likes it just as much as I do). Instead of heading to all of the busy restaurants and having to order from a prix fix menu, we decided to stay home and make a seafood dinner and we played a compatibility card game that I got him. Diggy was happy we stayed home and happy that we had extra shrimp that he got for his Valentine's dinner :)

Sunday night we celebrated my birthday (which was actually yesterday) by going to a happy hour and dinner in Coronado. Both the places we went are on the bay side and have glass walls so you have a really pretty view of the city. We had a fun night out, thanks Adam.

Monday we both had the day off for President's Day. Our plan was to take a long long walk, but when I got home from the gym, it started raining...the only fun activity I could think of on a rainy day was to go to a movie and I have been wanting to see "He's Just Not That Into You." Adam was a good husband and went with me. I loved it! Then we went home, cooked dinner, and watched the Bachelor. I couldn't think of a better, low key, relaxing day!

I hate when long weekends are over, but I'm excited that it's already Tuesday and the Roley's get here Friday!

Thank You!

My birthday isn't even for 3 days, but I scored big in the mail today :) I got some cards, a purse/shirt/necklace from the Boekers, cupcakes from the Roleys, a shopping spree from my mom and dad, and Golden Spoon spending money from Kristen. Thank you for thinking of me!

Happy Valentines Day weekend! Diggy sends kisses to all :)

Arizona

This past weekend we went to Arizona again to hang out with Katie's family. Once again, Adam got out of work early enough that we could leave in time to make it there for dinner! We just ordered Chinese and stayed up really late socializing!

Saturday morning Matt and Adam went dirtbiking and Katie, the kids, and I enjoyed the weather in their backyard (it was sunny and about 75-perfect!). When the men got back, Katie and I got to go out for lunch and run some errands. That night we grilled out in their backyard and had a fire and made smores. Now we want a firepit!

Sunday morning we decided to try going with Adam and Matt to ride fourwheelers/dirtbikes. It was so funny because the kids have a mini fourwheeler that is pretty hard core. I don't think it's safe for them to drive on their own, so us adults would take turns riding on it with the little ones (or by ourselves). Katie and I drove it a few times and we look like giants on that thing, but it goes fast and is fun. We had a really fun time (surprisingly!).

Of course, the weekends always end too soon, BUT this time I'm happy because the Roleys will be coming in less than 3 weeks for Seaworld :)
