1 Week and Still in Shambles

We officially got the keys to our condo a week ago and I thought we would have everything all set up by this weekend. Wow, was I wrong. I am not posting pictures because it is slightly embarressing; everything has now been moved into our new place, but there is stuff EVERYWHERE! I guess I know what I'll be spending my weekend doing-organizing!

Our new home!

This past weekend was super busy/eventful.

Thursday we we went to see Coldplay. It was really fun. I love outdoor concerts in the summer!

Then Friday we got possession of our new condo! That night we took Diggy over to see how he liked it and had a little picnic/slumber party on the floor. There was no furniture or anything in it, so Diggy loved it. He ran around like crazy.

We moved most of our kitchen stuff in on Saturday morning, met some friends at the beach, then had people over for to see our place and for drinks and apps Saturday night.

Sunday, we spent all day moving stuff in. We still have about two loads at our old house that we need to do tonight/tomorrow, then we need to start organizing at the new place. We still have to put everything in a place, put more shelving in our closet and bathroom/laundry room, and get lots of stuff to furnish the place, but I'm excited about it. I just want to take my time and make sure everything we get is perfect. I think we're really going to like living there!

Celebrating Katie and Kristie's Big 3-0!

This past weekend I had my two sisters and my cousin Courtney in town for them to have a little getaway weekend from their kids and to celebrate Katie and Kristie's 30th birthday. They are having a party in Illinois with their best friend since childhood, Rachel, who also is turning 30 in August, but wanted to do something fun away from their kids-San Diego was the perfect place for them to come.

They all got here on Friday around noon and we went out to lunch then directly to the beach. The weather was perfect all weekend so that's pretty much mostly what we did. We also went out to dinner both nights (Prado Friday then Nobu Saturday), got frozen yogurt, did some showing them around, did some shopping, etc. Sunday we went to lunch at Old Town then Katie had to leave to go back to work Monday morning. I didn't take one picture the whole weekend because Katie and Kristie had their cameras the whole time, but I will post them once Kristie sends me hers. Here are some picts Katie took.

Birthday Dessert (had to get Diggy in :)

Sunday night we grilled out at our house and Robbie and Court's friend from Morton who is working at the camp I worked at a few summers ago came over so they could hang out. Kristie, Courtney, and I then spent yesterday at the beach and malls. We went out to one last dinner last night, watched the Bachelorette, then got up before 5AM this morning for them to leave.

It was such a fun weekend! Thanks for coming KK and C! And thanks Adam for being a good sport and pretty much being the photog all weekend! I am so happy and lucky to have such great family!

Independence Day

This past weekend was 4th of July. We woke up to take a walk and Adam came out in red and navy pants and a white shirt with blue trim. Diggy had gone to the groomer so he had a red white and blue bow on his leash. I thought Adam would go in and change, but no! He went on the whole walk all around downtown in his patriotic gear, slightly embarressing but pretty funny. We didn't do much for the holiday, just went to the beach then over to Joe and Leigh's house for a BBQ. I made some festive food that fit the theme and we watched fireworks.

Friday my sisters and cousin get here, so I'm excited for the week to fly by!

SD Summer

We have had a great past couple of days due to the wonderful weather and all that San Diego has to offer in the summer time!

Thursday night we went to the concerts in the park at Balboa Park. The group was this women Motown group called The Corvelles. It was PACKED with lots of families and kids. We sat on the outskirts, took a picnic dinner, and had fun enjoying a nice summer evening!

Friday I worked half day and then took Diggy to the vet. His itching had not gotten better and I just feel horrible for him. Anyways, the good news is that he doesn't have any infections or problems with his ears, or any diseases causing him to itch. The bad news is that we have to figure out if it's a food allergy or an allergy to pollen. To do this, he is on prescription dog food that is an all soy based formula. He isn't allowed any foods other than this formula and water, so he can't even have treats! Luckily, he loves ice so we have been giving him ice cubes to replace his normal treats. He also has to take benedryl twice a day to try to help if it is a pollen allergy. It might be in my head, but I think his itching has improved a little. I just hope it works so bad!

Saturday we woke up and took a LONG walk to the Ocean Beach Street Fair. Ocean Beach is a little beach community with lots of "hippie" type families, so the street fair consists of lots stands with food, art, bands, etc. We went last year and thought it was fun so went back again. We basically ate lunch and watched people, but it was a good time. After the fair, we went home and Robbie came over to grill out. We grilled lobster tails for the first time and they were really good.

Yesterday we spent the day at Coronado Beach. The temperature was super nice, but it was really breezy. By the time we left, my body was coated in the sand that stuck to sunblock and filthy. After the beach we went home and tried to make grilled pizza. We had some difficulties transfering it from the pan to the hot grill, so the shape and look of it was totally off, but it was really good. We're definitely going to try it again but with a different strategy so it doesn't look so mangled.

It's so hard after a great weekend and being able to be outside at all times to be stuck indoors in my office that has no windows :( At least we don't work Friday so we can celebrate the 4th!

Sad Day

Michael Jackson died today (the same day Farrah Fawcett died); I'm sad. I've always LOVED his music and have lots of fun memories that involve his songs cause they just make you want to get up and have fun (anyone remember being in about 7th grade at the Roley house and watching that Michael Jackson Greatest Videos tape and trying all night to master his moves?). All I have to say is that he has had so much ridicule and sadness in his life, so hopefully now he's in a place where he can be happy and not judged :(
