Not much going on in Cali...

This past weekend, we really didn't have much going on for once. All we did was go out for sushi Friday night, Saturday went to the pool all day, Saturday night got carry out and watched a movie, and Sunday went out for lunch and on a boat ride in the harbor. Adam's work gave him free tickets, so we decided to use them up. It was a nice day out, so it was fun. Overall, a pretty low key weekend!

Yesterday I noticed for the first time since last spring that it was pitch black when my alarm went off. The summer is officially over (at least the weather is still nice though). No matter how much sleep I get, if it's dark out when I get up I feel like it's not enough time to sleep. Diggy apparently feels the same because usually he runs out of his cage when I open it in the morning. Yesterday, he layed in his cage for about five minutes before slowly inching his way out. Poor baby! After work, I went to get a much needed mani/pedi/eyebrow wax on my walk home from the gym. I'm feeling better today, but it still was hard for me and Diggy to get up!!!

Work is so slow this week, and I'm already counting the minutes until the weekend is here unfortunately! I honestly have about 3 little things to do that will take me about 1 hour each, so I'm rationing the work out so each day I have a few minutes of work to do, haha. Tough job, huh? Next week I'm off Monday-Wednesday because we are going to San Francisco Sunday. I'm so excited (more for the part that I don't have to work rather than going to San Fran :)

Hope everybody has a good week!

Lake Tahoe!

Since we had an extra day off this weekend for Labor Day, we planned to go on a roadtrip to Lake Tahoe. Adam's old work friend, Conner, lives in Carson City, Nevada and wanted us to come visit him, so we decided to make a trip to see him and see this lake.

Welcome Sign for Labor Day Weekend

We left before it was light out on Saturday and got there around 3. We went to Conner's house to drop off Diggy (he got to have fun playing with all of Conner's dogs for the weekend!) then to check into our resort. It was really neat-right on the mountains with streams and hot springs. Then Conner showed us around the lake and we went to dinner at his favorite buffet. This night Adam and I were super tired and full, so we just went back to sit in the hottub. I discovered that I forgot to pack a swimsuit of all things, so we ran Target, which was the only shopping we had seen. I had to pick from about 3 swimsuits...I ended up with a turquoise one piece that I probably would never had bought otherwise, but it worked!

Beautiful View driving into Lake Tahoe

Sunday morning we got up and walked around the area, then drove up to the lake to eat lunch. We went to a restaurant right on the water; the sun was shining, the wind was blocked, and it felt great! That afternoon Adam and Conner went to see some old western town, which I didn't have much interest in, so I opted to stay and lay out at the pool!

Us on the Lake

Such pretty water!

Sunday night we went to dinner with Conner at this little place that a lady at the pool told me to go to, then Adam and I went up to the lake to some of the Casinos. After about an hour we'd lost enough money to make us ready to go home, haha.

Finally, Monday, we got up and sat in the hottub one last time, then showered, picked up Diggy, and went home. It was a short weekend for so much driving, but worth it. The lake was beautiful and somewhere we definitely want to go back to!

Dave Matthews and the Horse Races

Once again, Adam and I had a busy but really fun weekend. Adam was out of town all week, so we really hadn't planned much. Friday on his way back, his friend Joe called him and had 2 extra tickets to see Dave Matthews. We had nothing to do and both like him, so we went. We took a cooler with drinks and relaxed in the parking lot for awhile and then went in for the concert! It was such a nice night out and so much fun!!! He played a lot of good songs and it was a really good time!

Saturday we were tired (we didn't get home from the concert until way past our usual bedtime) so we slept in and went out to lunch and lounged by the pool. A nice and relaxing day! That night we went out for Mexican at our favorite restaurante Casa de Pico! After that we went home to watch shows!

Saturday night Robbie called to see if we wanted to go to the horse races in Del Mar with him and his girlfriend, Kirsten (I'm not sure how she spells her name!), so we were planning on going there and to brunch with Joe before hand. It was a really fun day. We ate brunch at this place called the Tractor Room that sort of has the feel of a speakeasy (dark black curtains and all old fashioned looking). We sat outside and had a delicious brunch and drinks from their menu of about a million types of bloody mary's and mimosas! After that we went to the races. It was fun-Adam won about $50 on one race which isn't bad unless you already had spent a ton of money for the day, like us! Oh well, it was entertaining!

Now back to work after a fun, fun weekend! Next weekend-Lake Tahoe!!!

Diggy Vs. Adam

Today I like Diggy more than Adam. It's a sad but true fact. Adam was a typical stupid man and Diggy is the angel that he always is. It's true, Dog is a (wo)man's best friend. He's always here with me and always makes me smile and always needs me!!!!! Who needs a husband when you've got the best dog in the world???? Really? (JK, JK)

I love you Diggy! You make me so happy! I'm happy we get 3 days of bonding time, just mama and angey :)

First Visit to Katie's New House

Adam, Diggy, and I went to Tucson (actually Sahuarita) this past weekend to hang out with Katie and her family! We left Friday right after work and got there in a little less than 6 hours. To my delight, Katie let the kids stay up and wait for us so we could see them and they could meet Diggy! Matt's brother Tim and his sister Sarah and their girlfriend/boyfriend Leah and and Dean came just for Friday night too, so we all just hung out around their house and had drinks and talked. Their new house is really nice and has tons of room so all of us could sleep there without a problem.

Lexie being weird with Ellie and Diggy

Saturday morning, Adam got up early with the rest of the guys to help Matt put in a concrete patio, which sadly, I think they all enjoyed! Katie and I took the kids and Diggy to the dog park and let Diggy play. I think Tate had more fun than Diggy even did. Then, Katie and I took Lexie and her new friend, Marissa, to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 movie. It was cute and a fun afternoon.

I looked at Diggy and he had one of Ellie's doll's pacifiers in his mouth; it was so cute so Katie took a picture!

Saturday night, we went up to the pool and sat in the hot tub, then hung around their house some more and Matt grilled a nice dinner!

Ellie and Tate both tried to fit into his cage

Backyard Grilling

Yesterday we went to the pool until it was time to leave! The weekend went really fast, but it was tons of fun! Katie and her family plan on coming to visit San Diego in September and I can't wait!!!

Kristen's Wedding Weekend

Oh wow, it's been awhile because I was home for 6 days and have been trying to catch up at home and work ever since! I had a great time being home and saw pretty much everyone I could, so it was a good trip and sad to come back (except to see Diggy). We were supposed to get in Thursday afternoon, but if course our flights were delayed so we didn't arrive at my house until about 10 PM. The next day was super busy and fun with all of the wedding festivities beginning! We had a bridesmaid luncheon and then nail appointments closeby. It was fun to chat and relax before the big day! Kate (Kristen's sister in law) and Jodi (Kirk's sister who was in our grade) just had babies and had them there (Maeve and Lola), they were so cute!

After nails, Adam picked me up and we went over to Jay and Steph's house to see Addi and so I could meet Samantha! Lucky for us, Robin decided to come into town too, so we got to see Nolan, Mara, and Reese too! It was such a short visit, but so fun to see all the kids and meet Sammi!

After we met with the Ralph side of the fam, we had to rush home to get ready for the rehearsal dinner. The dinner was at the Embassy Suites; the food was good, the company was good, and everything was really nice!

The next day was the big day of the wedding! We went over to the Parker house early to get hair done, get ready, eat, etc. It was a really fun relaxing morning. Then the bus picked us up to take us to see the reception hall before everyone else and finally to the church! The ceremony was short and sweet and Kristen looked beautiful! After that we got on the party bus to go to the reception!

All Dressed!

Married!
At the reception, it was really really fun. I saw tons of people who I hadn't seen in at least a year! I got to hang out with my fam, friends, and husband! It was a great wedding and everyone had a great time!

Me and Kris

After the wedding festivities, Adam went home and I did a lot of hanging out in Morton. I went to Kristie's a lot to hang out with Cal and Sylvie, went to my fave restaurants (La Fiesta and Avantis), went to my Aunt Julie's for my cousin Nate's 11th bday party, had Duvy and Darah over for some chatting, went out to lunch with my mom, etc. I was sad to go home, but ready to get back to my dog and my husband! Next weekend-Arizona to see the Roleys!
