Europe, here we come...

We are leaving for Europe early tomorrow...mostly everything is packed, Diggy is gone :( and we basically just have to sleep, get to the airport, and we are ready to roll.

Have a good Thanksgiving everyone! I'm so thankful to have such a happy life and so many people I love!

Getting a little overwhelmed...

I am SOOOO excited that Adam and I leave on our trip in LESS than a week! This vacation crept up on us sooner than we expected though, and now i feel like I have a zillion things to do at once. It just came to me that all of the stuff due at work the first Friday of the month is not done and needs to be before I leave! Monday and Tuesday will be busy busy busy!

We also have lots of last minute shopping/errands to run and we were super smart and planned to go to the Trans Siberian Orchestra Saturday and the Chargers/Colts game Sunday...

We also read some of the info we got and learned that our luggage max is 44 lbs per person. Coming from a girl who packs a large suitcase of "just in case" items and every pair of shoes I own for trips that last 2 days, this is not an easy task. I started a list of thing to take and things to go buy and this is going to be sooooooo hard for me! Ontop of that, it's winter, so I will need coats, boots, etc.-all bulky stuff that takes up lots of room, ahhhhh.

Finally, I talked to Amy and Panichi within the last day and they both kept telling me "don't forget this" and "don't forget that", which was super helpful, but my list pretty much doubled.

And poor Diggy won't see his mom for 2 weeks :(

Enough with the whining, I'm super excited...just say a little prayer to the packing gods that I can squeeze everything I need (or want to wear:) while I'm there will fit in my suitcase and that I get everything done!

Can you think of anything extra to tell me to take? I don't want to forget ANYTHING!

Christmas/New Years Planning before Thanksgiving???

Since Adam and I will be out of the country for two of the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas it had occurred to me that I might not have a ton of time to prepare for Christmas. Then last week I actually looked at the calendar and realized that there is only 1 weekend that we will be back before we leave to go to the midwest! Ontop of that, I have 4 different work parties to attend. That would leave not near enough time for shopping , sending, Christmas cards, etc., so I decided to start preparing...

I went to Michael's on Friday and bought some crafty stuff to make some little presents for people (haven't begun to do this yet). We'll see how they turn out and if I actually even use these as gifts since I'm not the most artistic person I know. That night Adam and I stayed home and I began shopping (online). I decided I'm pretty much ordering all of my presents and sending them to my mom and dad's house so I don't have to deal with flying with a million suitcases! 3 presents down, about a zillion to go.

Saturday morning Adam and I took a walk to Balboa Park and they have all of the Grinch decorations up. It made me feel happy! I also ordered all of my Christmas cards to send and started getting updated addresses from people!

Saturday night we went out to dinner with and the topic of the night was "what to do on New Year's Eve"...The group consensus is pretty much go to dinner or go to someone's house (nothing too crazy). That was as far as we got...

It seems early for all of this stuff, especially since it was in the 90's here this weekend, but I guess it's not. I'm excited for Christmas now!

Oprah's Dog Solomon

So I'm sitting here watching Oprah and anyone who watches Oprah knows she's really into her dogs...she announced that she had to put her 14 year old dog Solomon to sleep cause his health was so bad and they did a little clip in his memory...I don't know why but I just started bawling and was watching it and really into it and just as Oprah was saying how she loved him so much because of his unconditional love, I felt something start to lick my toes and looked down at Diggy giving me kisses :)

I love my Angey!

Tucson visit for Lexie's 12th Birthday

Lexie's 12th birthday was Friday and Adam and I both had Tuesday off from work for Veterans Day, so we decided to take off Monday and make it a long weekend in Tucson for once. It was so nice not having to drive 7 hours there and turn around the next day and drive back!

Lexie had her birthday party with her friends on Friday night and her party with family on Saturday night, so that day we didn't do much. Matt, Adam, and Tim (Matt's brother) went for a hike (see picts), Lex watched Ellie and Tate for a bit while Katie and I went to Target, then we went home to get ready for the party. Lexie's Grandma and Grandpa Roley were in Phoenix, so them, her aunt Sarah and her bf Dean, Tim and his dog Tiki, her friend Brianda, her family, me, Adam, and Diggy all came for the big party! Quite the crowd for living that far away from "home". She liked all of the nice stuff she got and I think she had fun.

Sunday Adam, Matt, and Dean went to ride dirtbikes (which Adam had never done) while the rest of us drove around and Matt's mom took pictures of the kids. The only thing I asked of Adam was to return without broken limbs before our trip to Europe...he returned about 5 hours later looking horrible with injuries from falling off a bike a few times pretty much all over his body. He has a huge gash on his leg that won't close, small cuts and sores all over, can barely walk from being sore, but no broken bones, hurray! That night G and G Roley babysat took the kids out for dinner and me Katie Matt and Adam went out ourselves.

Ellie surprised us with her very own interpretation of a super hero costume, she's so funny

Monday we went shopping and out for lunch, relaxed, and made a "Thanksgiving" dinner since none of us will get a homecooked meal for the Holiday this year (the Roleys will be at Disney World). Lexie had her friend Shelby over and they even gave me a pedicure! It was a nice low key day.

Yesterday we got up and drove home. The weekend went fast but it was a good one! I am so glad we get to see Katie's family so much more now!

Happy Election Day!

Adam and I got up bright and early and went to wait in line to vote before work this morning. We went about 15 minutes before the polls opened (I waited in line and Adam went to get us coffee :) and were glad we did! We were out of there by 7:20 AM, and when we left, the line was SOOO LONG! I heard of people around San Diego waiting for 2 hours plus just to get to the check-in table, ewwww.

I'm super excited to see the outcome, but I'm probably MORE excited for all of the hullabaloo to end! I am so sick of commercials, conversations, and people on street corners screaming at cars regarding the election. I guess it's good people care though.

Yay for America :)

Halloween 08

This was my first Halloween with a little one to dress up! A few weeks ago, Adam and I walked by this little pet boutique and I saw through the window a cute lion costume that I thought was perfect for Diggy, so we got it! Here are a few pictures of him right when we put it on him...If you can't tell from the way he looks, he was miserable until we left the house. I was in heaven though because he was so cute!

I decided it would be fun to show him off in his costume, so we took him on a walk to Little Italy so we could eat at a dog friendly patio. Little did I know that there was Trick-or-treating at the restaurants in Little Italy, so the streets were PACKED with little kids in costumes. It was so fun! Diggy loved being around all those kids! It was really fun to sit and eat and watch all the cute kids in costumes go by.
I had to work the morning after Halloween, so I didn't go out. Adam's friend Cody was visiting, and they went out with all of Adam's friends. They came over to have a drink before and I took a picture of how attractive these men looked. I'm sure they picked up a lot of women looking like this...

Hope everyone had a good one! Happy belated Halloween!
